LEGISLATION
SB 1485
SB 1485 and HB 2569 are two steps taken by the state’s legislature that seeks to secure election integrity in Arizona. While much work is still needed, these efforts are a good first step.
·      Updating Early Voting List. SB1485 renames the Permanent Early Voting List to the Active Early Voting List. If a voter doesn’t vote in two consecutive elections, they’ll be asked if they want to stay on the list by the county recorder, otherwise, they will be removed.
·      Saving Money. SB1485 frees up dollars for election officials by ensuring that costly early ballots are only sent to those voters who are legitimately seeking to vote.
