“MADISON —The Assembly Campaign and Elections Committee holds a hearing today amid new complaints about another “WI-5” city and growing concerns surrounding Wisconsin’s unattended absentee ballot drop boxes.
The committee has spent the past year looking into myriad election law violations and irregularities in the hotly contested 2020 presidential election.
Catherine Engelbrecht, founder of Houston, Texas-based True the Vote, is expected to testify about the geospatial technology her organization used in tracking trillions of data points around drop boxes in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Racine and other so-called Wisconsin-5 cities.
The geofencing project tracked individuals repeatedly going to and from liberal activist groups and drop boxes, Engelbrecht said.
“Some people were going to as many as 12 to 15 drop boxes a day,” she told Wisconsin Spotlight in an interview. Engelbrecht called the individuals “mules,” like drug mules, but in this case illegally carrying votes.
“This is organized crime,” she said.”
