Known as the “Promote the Vote” initiative and while it may sound like a good proposal it is filled with many aspects that we do not advocate for. This proposal would open 9 days of early voting, no voter ID, push for absentee voting, more drop boxes and allow third parties to fund elections. Those in support of the proposal continue to use phrases such as “makes elections more easily accessible” and “protects voter privacy”. While those in opposition are fearful of the security concerns that come with an increase of absentee ballots and the loosening of identification requirements.
A deeper look into the proposal and 2 others that will also be on the ballot can be found here.
